Frequently asked questions

 General

Can I check in outside opening hours?

Yes, we have a solution for self-service check-in. We send out information well in advance of arrival.

Can we pay when we leave?

All stays must be paid for in advance according to our rental conditions, but other additions such as meals, bed linen, firewood etc. can be paid at departure.

Are bed linen included?

No, you can bring your own bed linen or rent from us. We rent out bed linen packages that include 2 towels. It is included for stays in rooms inside the mountain lodge.

Is cleaning included in the price?

No, we have not included final cleaning in our prices. You can either clean the unit yourself (cleaning equipment is supplied), or you can order final cleaning from us. This must be done in advance of the stay. It is included for stays in rooms inside the mountain lodge.

Are dogs allowed?

Yes, we have some units where pets are allowed. An additional fee must be paid and ordered in advance.

Do you have fire alarms in the apartments and cabins?

Yes, all apartments are equipped with fire alarms/smoke detectors. We have good routines for preventive fire protection, and an overview of routines and escape routes can be found in the entrance area of ​​the apartments. The cabins have smoke detectors in all rooms.

 

 Restaurant

Do you have a restaurant?

Yes, we have a restaurant that is open during the winter season for breakfast buffet and evening buffet. In the summer season, we only serve breakfast.

Can you eat in the restaurant if you're staying  in cabins and apartments?

Yes, you are most welcome to do so during the periods when the mountain lodge is open. You can either book meals at the same time as you book your stay, or you can order at the reception at the current prices.

Do you have a café?

We do not have our own café, but have a small selection of hot and cold drinks, chocolate, snacks and other goodies at the reception. There is a café a little further up at Nordseter.

Do you have gluten-free options?

Yes, we do, but remember to let us know well in advance, so we can give you the best possible service.

Do you serve vegetarian food?

Yes, we serve vegetarian food, but we must be notified in advance. Feel free to mention it in as a note when you order.

What about vegan food?

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide a 100% vegan option.

 

 Parking and skiing

Where can you park?

We have a large car park outside the apartments and mountain lodge. When you check in, you will be given a parking pass to be placed by the windscreen, then all you have to do is park in an available space.

Can we charge our car at your place?

Unfortunately, we do not have electric car chargers, and it is strictly forbidden to charge out of the window in our cabins and apartments. There is a large charging station 6 km away at Sjusjøen, otherwise there are several large charging points in Lillehammer.

How far is it to the nearest slalom ski slope?

It takes about 15 minutes to drive to Sjusjøen Ski Center Natrudstilen. Furthermore, it takes about 1/2 hour to drive to Hafjell Alpinsenter. 

How far is it to the ski trails?

If you live in the mountain lodge or in the cabins, you will find the cross-country trails right outside the ski storage and waxing room when you walk out the door. If you live in the apartments, you can enter the slopes about 100 meters from the car park.

Is there a sledding area at Nordseter?

Yes, we have a small floodlit sledding hill behind the mountain lodge, and we lend out sleds, snow sliders, and bum sleds at the reception.

Can we rent skis from you?

We do not have ski rental at our mountain lodge, but you can rent skis at Fjellparken just up the road or at Sport 1 in Sjusjøen. Read more about it here: https://lillehammerfjellstue.no/en/ski-rental-instruction

 

By car: Drive to Lillehammer and from there up to Nordseter. Nordseter is located approx. 20 minutes from the center of Lillehammer. Follow the signs for Nordseter from Lillehammer, and drive up the mountain via Nordsetervegen. The road is well maintained, even in winter, and has great viewpoints along the way.

By public transport: From Lillehammer you can take a bus directly to Nordseter several times a day during the winter season. The bus corresponds with the trains from Oslo and Trondheim, which makes the journey easy and stress-free for those who come by public transport. The bus stops right outside our place, at the stop "Nordseter Fjellhytter".
