Route description – Around Reinsvannet from Nordseter
From Nordseter to Snauskallen
From Lillehammer Fjellstue you have a short distance to the ski slopes at Nordseter ski center. Here you start on the main trail that follows Reinavegen north.
The first kilometer goes uphill towards Snauskallen. Here it can be the slopes, and some skiers prefer to take off their skis on this stretch if the conditions are difficult.
On towards Reinakrysset
From Snauskallen, you follow the main trail further north for just over four kilometers. Here the trip goes through varied mountain terrain with open sections and nice views of the mountain areas around Reinsvannet.
Eventually, you will reach Reinakrysset, at the top of Reinabakken. Here you will meet several ski trails, with opportunities for further trips in different directions.

Along Pellevegen past Indre Reina
At the Reina junction, turn left and follow Pellevegen westwards. The trail passes Indre Reina and continues towards the trail junction at Kriksvika.
Pellevegen is named after Pelle Skalmstad, the man behind the original Pellestova. The road route provides good opportunities for skiing when the snow conditions are sufficient.
Continue west past Kriksvika. A little over one kilometer after the intersection, turn left from Pellevegen, in the direction of the marshes north of Reinsvannet.
Over the marshes to Trolløypa
The trail continues over marshy terrain north of Reinsvannet before you reach a trail junction with Trolløypa.
The Troll Trail is a long, continuous ski connection through the mountain areas of Innlandet. On this trip, you follow it south for about three kilometers.
Here you get a varied end to the tour, with several opportunities to enjoy the view along the way.
Back to Nordseter
After about three kilometers on Trolløypa, turn right and follow the main trail back towards Nordseter.
From here, the trip continues back to the starting point at the ski center. From the trail network, it is a short way back to Lillehammer Fjellstue.
Who is Reinsvannet around suitable for?
With a length of just over 16 kilometers, the trip is well suited for exercisers and skiers with some experience. The round has several climbs and descents, but also longer sections where you can find a steady and comfortable rhythm.
The trip is not particularly suitable for completely new skiers or small children who have not yet mastered downhill skiing.
Large parts of the trail network run in open mountain terrain. In case of strong winds or poor visibility, it may therefore be better to choose a shorter ski trip in the forest.
